HELLA won the 2022 Automotive Electronics Science and Technology Award for Its High-resolution Lighting Electronics Control System

Shanghai, 14 June 2023. HELLA, the automotive supplier operating under the umbrella brand FORVIA, was invited to attend the China (Shenzhen) International Automotive Electronics Industry Annual Conference held in Baoan District, Shenzhen on June 10, 2023, where it won the 2022 Automotive Electronics Science and Technology Award by virtue of its high-resolution lighting electronics control system. The Automotive Electronics Science and Technology Award is an award that has been established by the Shenzhen Automotive Electronics Industry Association, and is given to companies to recognize their significant contributions to scientific research, technological innovation, and development in automotive electronics as well as the promotion and application of automotive electronics in the automotive industry.

With this high-resolution lighting electronics control system, up to 25,000 pixels can be controlled intelligently and individually, thus bringing about numerous new safety functions like optical lane markings. This can, for example, indicate the optimal lane to take when driving past road works and thus provide the driver with additional support to achieve safe and stable vehicle guidance. Other established safety-relevant lighting functions such as adaptive, glare-free high beam are improved as well. Furthermore, original equipment manufacturers and end customers can use SSL | HD technology to implement and experience further options allowing enhanced individualization, such as coming and leaving home animations as well as communication functions. One attractive use-case for Chinese customers is to project greeting words and pictures before every traditional festival when the driver gets closer to the car. It also provides further opportunity for aftermarket value-added service.

The Digital Light SSL | HD electronics control system reached the market together with SSL HD headlamp earlier this year.
