Vehicle smells of diesel - fuel loss

On the vehicle mentioned above, it can happen that a strong smell of diesel suddenly becomes very noticeable. Leaking fuel may also have accumulated in the engine compartment or under the vehicle. The cause of this is not always immediately recognisable. Firstly, the fuel lines and their connections in the engine compartment should be checked. If no leak is found, the fuel filter housing may be the cause of the diesel loss. In order to remedy the situation, the filter should be replaced and the fuel system bled in accordance with the vehicle manufacturer's instructions. We recommend cleaning the engine compartment as a final step of the repair.

IMPORTANT

Please always follow the repair instructions from the vehicle manufacturer when carrying out such work!
