If the fault symptoms described above occur together with error code P0299, a possible cause may be a faulty charge air radiator hose.

Due to a mechanical defect of the charge air radiator tube holder, contact with the pulley and the charge air hose occurs, resulting in damage.

In this case, check hose and holder and replace where necessary.

Repair notes

The problem was acknowledged by the vehicle manufacturer and fixed in the context of a service campaign installing different components, charge air radiator hose and charge air tube. It is possible that not all vehicles have been checked.
