Loud noise in the area of the engine compartment
If loud (shrill) noises are heard coming from the engine compartment, a possible cause could be a malfunctioning of the high-pressure pump.
In such cases defective software for the engine control unit can be responsible for the noise generation.
Remedy:
In order to exclude other sources which might be causing the problem, first check the system's periphery (high-pressure pump etc.). If no faults are detected here, a software update of the engine control unit is required.
