If the problem described above is determined in connection with the specified error code, the cause could be a contaminated throttle housing.

In such cases the system cannot function optimally because of defective software for the engine control unit.

This means that carbon deposits can form in the air intake system and in the throttle housing.

Remedy:

In order to exclude other sources which might be causing the problem, first check the system's periphery (sensors, control unit etc.). If no faults can be detected here, proceed as follows:

• Read out and clear error memory
• Clean throttle housing as per manufacturer's instructions
• Carry out update on engine control unit software (authorized specialist workshop)
• Read out error memory and, if necessary, delete all existing fault codes
