If there are complaints for these vehicles about the problems mentioned above, a possible cause could be water ingress at the intersection of the cable harness connection that is located near the splash wall (see figure).
In this situation, disconnect the battery before repairing the cable harness and then:
- Visually inspect the connector pins of the cable harness multi-plug.
- Clean the connector pins with a suitable contact spray, or replace them if necessary.
- Check the connector halves for damage and for proper connection.
- Reconnect the cable harness multi-plug.
