Poor starting behaviour

If the above-mentioned fault pattern is discovered shortly after damage has occurred to the turbocharger, the problem can stem from contamination in the charge air system. In the event of damage to the turbocharger, fine particles of metal debris or chips can remain in the intake system. These contaminants are drawn in and can damage the measuring foil of the air mass sensor. In some cases such a fault pattern only manifests itself 2 to 3 weeks after the renewal of the turbocharger.

Repair information

In order to avoid possible subsequent damage after the changing of the turbocharger, the intake system should be checked beforehand and cleaned if necessary.
