Engine warning lamp lighting up

In this repair case, the customer complains that the engine warning lamp lights up while driving.

The following fault codes can be set:

-P0263 Cylinder 1 - Cylinder output/cylinder compensation fault

-P0266 Cylinder 2 - Cylinder output/cylinder compensation fault

-P0269 Cylinder 3 - Cylinder output/cylinder compensation fault

-P0272 Cylinder 4 - Cylinder output/cylinder compensation fault

In this case, the calibration of the crankshaft is faulty, which leads to the problems mentioned above.

To exclude other possible error causes, electrical and mechanical system tests should be performed (according to the vehicle manufacturer specifications).

If there are no other faults, the crankshaft sensor must be recalibrated using a suitable diagnostic unit.

Finally, a test drive and another error code query should be performed in order to check the repair work.

Important:

Please note that the vehicle manufacturer's repair and maintenance instructions are always to be observed and that such repair work should only be carried out by an authorised specialist workshop.
