On the Toyota Aygo the airbag control lamp lights up continuously and the error memory cannot be cleared

On the above-mentioned vehicle, the airbag control light may come on permanently and the error memory cannot be cleared.

 

Possible causes are stored crash data that cannot be deleted or the airbag SRS control unit shows up a general defect (error code B1000).

 

Before replacing or repairing the control unit, the entire periphery of the airbag system (connector, wiring, fuse) should be checked.

 

The airbag control unit is located in the centre console, in front of the gear lever. In the course of troubleshooting and during removal and installation of control units and airbags, the specific instructions of the vehicle manufacturer must be strictly observed.
