If a customer complains about the above error, this could be caused by the EGR valve. Error code P0400 (exhaust gas recirculation system, continuity malfunction identified) may be saved in the event memory. Coking and other deposits cause the valve to jam. In this case, proceed as follows:

- Remove the EGR valve and clean it thoroughly with appropriate products.

- If contamination is severe, the exhaust manifold must also be removed and cleaned.

- After cleaning, refit the parts that have been removed with new seals.

- Carry out a system check.

- Delete the event memory.
