Trailer towing device cannot be released to swivel out/in

If the above problem is identified, one possible cause may be a defective electronic control unit for the electrically-powered swivel tow bar.

REPAIR NOTES:

In order to exclude other causes of malfunction, the surrounding area in the vicinity of the tow bar must be visually inspected for other kinds of damage and then repaired if necessary.

If no further errors can be detected, then the control unit has to be replaced.

-OE article number of control unit: VPLGT0215

Finally, a test drive should be undertaken in order to run a check on the repair work.

IMPORTANT:

Please note that such repair work should only be carried out by an authorised specialist workshop and that the vehicle manufacturer's repair and maintenance instructions are to be observed!
