Illumination of the ESP control lamp
If there are complaints about the above mentioned fault, the problem may be caused by a faulty or incorrect brake lamp switch (brake pedal position switch). The error rate C1200 may also be saved in the ESP control unit at the same time.
Remove brake lamp switch and visually inspect for correct part no.
Note:
The part no. 001 545 2109 is not the correct brake lamp switch in this case.
Remove brake lamp switch, visually inspect for correct part no. and fit the new, correct brake pedal position switch.
Brake lamp switch (service part no.:) 001 545 3109
Then clear the exiting entries in the error memory.
