Poorly running engine.

If complaints are made about the above-mentioned problem, the trouble could be traced back to a faulty fuel pressure regulator control solenoid valve. The following complaints can also be included in this general problem:

- Engine stalls sporadically.

- Sporadic loss of power.

- Poor cold-start performance.

- Engine does not accelerate properly.

Under certain circumstances the engine warning light will also come on and the P0089 fault code may be stored.

An initial measure should be to check the fuel circuit for faulty air intake or leakages. It is also advisable to examine the fuel filter and, if necessary, to renew it.

Information when checking the component with the plug disconnected.

If no faults can be detected here, it must be assumed that the fuel pressure regulator control solenoid valve is defective.
