Engine does not start / engine stalls
With the above-mentioned vehicles, it can happen that the engine starts sluggishly or not at all. There may also be ignition misfiring. The error codes P0320, P0321, P0322, P0323 (ignition) are often stored in the engine control unit. A sporadic signal interruption of the crankshaft sensor is a possible cause.
The following steps should be taken to rectify the problem:
- Remove the multiple connector from the crankshaft sensor and check the pins for contamination and/or corrosion
- If necessary, the pins must be cleaned or replaced.
- If the connector pins are in good working order, the cause could be a defect in the sensor
- After completion of the repair job, clear the error memory
- Carry out a test drive
