In the above vehicle, the multi-function control unit and/or or the signal horn may malfunction. One possible cause in some vehicles may be a defect in the wiring harness of the brake pedal switch that can scrub at the steering shaft due to unfavourable positioning.

As a corrective action, the wiring harness should be checked, and damaged cable insulations should be repaired with a repair kit. In addition, pull a suitable protective cover onto the wiring and fasten the harness again.

If necessary, the harness must be replaced, although this is associated with a significant amount of work.
