On the vehicles mentioned above, bubbling and/or gurgling noises can occur at idle speed.
This may be due to condensation which accumulates in the ventilation hose of the charcoal filter tank. When fresh air is drawn in during operation, the noises described above can occur.
To eliminate this problem, the front right-hand wheel arch liner should be removed. The ventilation hose, which goes from the activated charcoal tank to the vehicle floor and out into the open, is now visible. At the point where the hose curves upward, a 3 mm hole should be drilled in the hose at the lowest point of the curve. This will allow the water to drain downward.
