Coated brake disc | HELLA

HELLA “PRO”

General information

In addition to conventional brake discs, HELLA also has on offer the PRO coated brake disc.

With these 100% coated brake discs, HELLA is following the constantly growing demand of the automotive market.

These are the advantages:

  • No rust formation thanks to corrosion protection
  • Protection of the brake disc including the friction ring up until assembly
  • Direct fitting option, no removal of protective oil necessary
  • Easier disassembly because of painted mounting surfaces
  • Improved appearance of the brake disc, for example when using aluminium wheel rims

Coatings

Different coatings can be applied here.

In addition to zinc lamellar flake coating, brake discs are also coated with UV varnish, water-based varnish or by applying zinc dust paint.

The high-quality zinc flake coating is used for HELLA brake discs.

In zinc flake coating, a non-electrolytic silver-grey dispersion layer is applied by spraying. The material is based on a chromium-free, aluminium-zinc compound.

Zinc flake coating is performed by spraying on a water-based lacquer coating. This silver-grey weather-resistant and temperature-resistant top layer has a high aluminium content.

Important

Mounting instructions:

  • Do not remove the brake disc’s surface protection
  • The layer of varnish on the friction ring does not affect braking performance
  • Please comply with the installation information provided by the brake and vehicle manufacturers
