Opel Astra J GTC - Noise in the roof lining area | HELLA

There have been complaints of noise in the front roof lining area in the vehicles specified above.

The cause of this noise development could be the clips that were used as a mounting aid for the panorama windshield (figure 1).

The clips may come loose due to heat generation (insolation) for example.

Proceed as follows to rectify the problem:

· Remove the roof lining as described in the vehicle manufacturer's repair manual.

· Carefully loosen the clips (figure 2, position 1) using a plastic wedge (figure 2, position 2) and remove them.

Attention: do not use any sharp-edged tools!

· The fixing brackets (figure 2, position 3) can be bent downwards if required.

· Re-install the roof lining as described in the vehicle manufacturer's repair manual.

The clips are no longer used in production as of 08/29/2012.
