Failure of the function of the left headlight

In case of complaints about the failure of the function of the left headlight on the above mentioned models, the cause may be a damaged / faulty wiring harness in the area of the audio unit. The insulation on the harness or the insulation on several cables may be damaged due to "chaffing" on the housing of the audio unit if the wiring harness is routed incorrectly.

As a consequence the function of the multifunction control unit may be degraded or there may a short circuit.

First check the fuse for correct function, then remove the audio unit and check the wiring harness / wiring insulation for damage in this area, repair or renew if necessary, and route correctly.
