Repair note disk brake

Notes on the replacement of brake pads and brake discs

In order to be able to carry out a professional and correct service within the scope of the repair to the brake disc system, the following procedures are specified by the vehicle manufacturer BMW.

Procedure

The following spare parts described numerically in the figure must be replaced or are required when renewing the brake pads.

  • Brake pad wear indicator (1)
  • Brake pad paste (2)

The following spare parts must be replaced or are required when renewing the brake discs.

  • Brake pad wear indicator (1)
  • Brake pad paste (2)
  • Brake pads (3)

On vehicles that are older than 48 months, it is also recommended that the retaining spring (4) is renewed in both cases.
