The footwell module (FRM) blocks the power supply to the exterior lights
In the aforementioned vehicles, one of the tasks of the footwell module (FRM) is to monitor the exterior lights.
Note:
There is no separate system for monitoring the exterior lights.
In this case, there have been complaints of a failure in the rear license plate light on the aforementioned vehicles.
An electrical defect causes the footwell module (FRM) to block the power supply to the consumer in question.
Proceed as follows to rectify this problem:
- Read out the fault memory
- Locate and eliminate the defect
- Reset the footwell module (FRM) in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions (this will unblock the power supply to the output in question)
- Read out the fault memory again and clear the error code, if necessary
