On the vehicle mentioned above, it can happen that the operating temperature is not reached. Sometimes the temperature display in the instrument cluster shows a "cold engine".
The cause can often be found in the area of the thermostat, which does not close properly.
The thermostat is located on the engine block, behind the alternator.
After removing the coolant flange, the thermostat can then also be removed together with the sealing ring.
Before installing the new thermostat, the coolant flange should be inspected.
Part of the plastic guide (installation aid) often breaks off here.
It is then advisable to replace the flange.
Only drain the coolant when the engine is cold!
Collect the coolant and dispose of it properly.
Refill the cooling system with water/antifreeze and bleed, carrying out both procedures in accordance with the vehicle manufacturer's instructions.
Please always follow the repair instructions from the vehicle manufacturer when carrying out such work!
