If a sudden fast idle speed is determined in the vehicles listed above, the cause may be a fault in the cruise control system’s servomotor.
The control cable from the cruise control system’s servomotor to the throttle blade may come loose from its routing. This may result in a fast idle speed.
The vehicle manufacturer has already addressed the issue and notified owners of affected models.
The affected control cable is fixed in position with an additional routing clip at specialist garages, thus preventing it from coming loose.
For various reasons, however, it must be assumed that not all vehicles have been checked or modified.
