If the symptom specified above cannot be allocated to any detectable defect on the wheel brake, one possible cause of this is an insufficient decoupling between the brake pad and the brake caliper. For improving comfort, the vehicle manufacturers have installed so-called "Piston Caps" in the piston (A) of the brake calipers.
In case of a complaint, this must be checked and renewed where appropriate. On vehicles affected without "Piston Caps", these can be retrofitted.
These additional "Piston Caps" (B) have been introduced to the production from the following chassis numbers.
