There have been complaints that the battery charger door (figure 1) of the vehicles specified above cannot be opened.
The malfunction indicator lamp may light up and the error code DTC P0CD2 (battery charger door not open) may be set in the electronic control unit.
The cause for the issue mentioned above may be the rubber seal (figure 2) of the battery charger door.
The rubber seal (figure 2) may jam in the opening (figure 3) or freeze at low temperatures.
Proceed as follows to rectify the problem:
· Carefully open the door with a plastic wedge (figure 4).
· Apply special oil (vehicle manufacturer article number 93165293) to the outside and inside (as indicated, figure 5) of the rubber seal.
· Remove the error using a diagnostic unit (e.g. mega macs 56 Hella- Gutmann).
Repeat the process as described if necessary.
