Requirements for operating HGS-PassThru
A vehicle undergoing a flashing process must be connected to a suitable external voltage maintenance device (charger) in accordance with the requirements described on the vehicle manufacturer's web portal, as an undersupply can lead to unintentional interruption of the data transfer. Before each flashing process, the user of HGS-PassThru must also ensure that
- the workshop computer they use has an internet connection that meets the vehicle manufacturer's requirements;
- they use the latest software version of the vehicle manufacturer's web portal (basic programme and diagnostic area);
- the software and hardware that they use as well as all entries that they make in the workshop computer meet all other requirements demanded by the vehicle manufacturer's portal; in particular, the user must use the access/information/Secure ID of the manufacturer's portal (basic programme and diagnostic area) that the vehicle manufacturer requires;
- they take into account all the manufacturer's safety specifications;
- the vehicle's ignition is switched on during the entire flashing process, unless the vehicle manufacturer's web portal explicitly specifies otherwise;
- only wired connections (and no wireless remote connections) are used from the workshop computer to the vehicle in question and these wired connections are not disconnected until the flashing process has been completed, unless the vehicle manufacturer's web portal explicitly stipulates otherwise;
- all cable connections are free from damage;
- any defects in the vehicle's electrical system have been rectified before the flashing process;
- the latest version of the available software is installed on all HGS devices used for the flashing process.
