Repair note

General information

Before repair work begins on the rear axle wheel brakes of the vehicle models mentioned above, the electric parking brake must be emergency-released or deactivated.

Emergency release

Carry out the following steps for emergency release:

  • Switch on the ignition
  • Put the automatic transmission in the "P" position
  • Release the parking brake

· To do this, press the release button and actuate the release pushbutton switch

  • Switch off the ignition and withdraw the Renault chip card
  • Open the center flap between the front seats

· Pull hard on the emergency release (yellow lever)

· The slackening of the cables produces an audible noise

  • Unhook the control cables at the brake calipers

· Avoid placing mechanical loads on the cables with your tools

Note: The emergency release/the control element of the electric parking brake will automatically reset to its working position the next time the EPB switch is pressed.
