Noises from the engine compartment + error code P2600
If unusual noises are heard from the engine compartment of the above-mentioned vehicle, the cause could be a faulty electric coolant pump. Often the error code P2600 (coolant pump) is also stored in the control unit.
- remove and disassemble the coolant pump
- If there are no traces of corrosion: repair pump with repair kit (251000-3HZ0FFF)
- If corrosion is visible, replace the pump
- Check the multi-connector of the coolant pump for corrosion and clean/repair where necessary
- Fill/vent cooling system and check for leaks
- Clear error memory
- Carry out a test drive
