Hyundai Tucson - hood opens while car is being driven / hood warning lamp does not light up

Two faults can occur in connection with the hood locking system on the above-mentioned vehicles:

because the safety catch can come loose from the safety catch bracket while the car is travelling, it is possible that the hood opens suddenly of its own accord. Vehicles built between 2015 and March 2016 are affected. In order to remedy this, a modified hood catch should be fitted.

Another error that can occur concerns the function of the hood open warning lamp. This does not light up on some vehicles even though the hood is open or not properly locked. In such a case, a software update of the instrument panel module can remedy the situation. It is advisable to contact a Hyundai workshop in order to carry this out.
