BMW 5-series - Airbag and ABS indicator lights are on | HELLA

BMW

5-series, E60

From model year 2003

Airbag and ABS indicator lights are on

Radio does not function

Seat heating does not function

Battery charge level is low

If the error codes 10665 “Battery monitor faulty”, 24015 “ABS power supply faulty” and 37840 “Airbag power supply faulty” are read out on one of the above vehicle models, this may be associated with a previous battery change. When a battery has been changed it is necessary to register the new one with the power management system. If this is omitted, the control unit will continue to use its record of the charging characteristics of the old battery. If any irregularities are detected, the electronic control unit will disable a number of the comfort functions in order to maintain the vehicle’s ability to start. In such cases the battery needs to be checked, charged or replaced, and when this has been done you should register it in the control unit. This automatically stores the kilometrage and clears and reinitializes various other measurements, such as the battery charge status, current, voltage and temperature.

You will find this function in mega macs as follows:

Vehicle Selection ‑> Diagnostics ‑> Coding ‑> “Battery Registration”.

Then clear the errors from the appropriate control unit.

Please do this by following the disassembly and reassembly instructions from the vehicle manufacturer.
