Buzzing noise from the engine compartment

On the vehicle mentioned above, buzzing noises can be heard from the engine compartment when the air-conditioning system is switched off. These occur especially when the engine is idling.

Such noises can be caused by a too low / faulty power supply to the compressor or an internal defect of the compressor itself.

In order to remedy the situation or determine the cause, it is advisable to check the wiring on the compressor for corrosion, ingress of moisture, loose connections, a tight fit and damage in general.

In addition, the error memory should be read out and the measured value blocks checked with the aid of a diagnostic device (e.g. Hella Gutmann mega macs X). If no faults are found in this area, it can be assumed that the compressor itself is the cause of the noise. In the end, the only remedy is to replace the compressor.
