If the battery of the vehicles specified above discharges after the vehicle has been standing still for longer periods, a possible cause could be the ignition switch.
Due to an electronic malfunction on the ignition switch, a quiescent current that is too high may flow when the ignition is switched off. This can lead to the battery discharging.
The vehicle manufacturer has already addressed the issue and notified owners of all models affected.
For various reasons, however, it can be assumed that not all vehicles have been inspected and repaired.
On vehicles that have been built between CW 40 / 2012 and CW 1 / 2013, a new ignition switch is installed in a specialist garage and the ignition key is newly programmed.
Following a repair, the vehicles are marked in the area of the on-board tool kit with a sticker.
