Opel Corsa D - The drum brake cannot be loosened or released | HELLA

Opel

Corsa D

Model years: 2007 to 2010

All models with a drum brake system

The drum brake cannot be loosened or released if the vehicle has been parked with the handbrake pulled on for a longer period of time.

Whenever the above-mentioned fault is detected, it can very often be traced back to the presence of corrosion between the brake pad and the brake drum. In such a case the drum brake system must be checked for possible defects and then repaired if necessary.

If the brake pads are renewed in the course of the repairs, the following aspect has to be borne in mind.

For reasons of quality improvement, vehicle manufacturers use modified brake pads to suit each kind of model.

Brake pad 203 x 38mm – OE part number 93168956

Brake pad 228 x 40mm – OE part number 93169957
