It is possible that the replacement starter may not function in the vehicles mentioned above.
A detached positive battery cable connection may be the cause of this problem.
When removing the starter, it is sometimes necessary to disconnect and then reconnect the positive battery cable connector on the undercarriage of the vehicle (Figure 1). At that time, the other side of the connection (in the vehicle interior, Figure 2) may come loose, which causes an interruption in the power supply. Consequently, the vehicle will not start and it will seem as though the starter is not functioning.
To solve this problem, check the cable connections in the footwell on the driver's side (in left-hand drive vehicles) and reattach if necessary. To access the footwell, remove the panels and loosen the accelerator pedal (Figure 3).
