If complaints are made regarding the above-mentioned vehicles that the engine is losing power or going into limp-home mode, a possible cause is a defective 10 A fuse for terminal 87 (see Figure 1) of the control unit.
The following fault codes may be stored:
- The fault codes refer to the following scenarios:
- P1636, `Malfunction of cooling fan control unit`.
- P0100, `Mass air flow sensor defective`.
- P1403, `Exhaust gas recirculation defective`.
- P1470, `Vacuum valve of the pressure control valve function faulty`.
- P1189, `Function of intake manifold runner control system (IMRC) faulty`.
The 10 A fuse for the control unit is located in the module box in the engine bay (This fuse is not shown in all circuit diagrams). In order to remedy any problem, a faulty fuse should be replaced and any fault codes that have been stored should be deleted.
Please note:
The above-mentioned fault codes could lead to the components listed here (mass air flow sensor, cooling fan control unit, etc.) being misinterpreted as defective because of inadequate voltage supply of the engine control unit.
