When coolant loss occurs in the above vehicles, a defective coolant hose in the area of the alternator might be the cause.
Especially in older models, the hose may enter into contact with the fastening screw of the alternator and, thus, wear through.
A visual check is required to find out in how far damage and/or a leak have occurred.
When replacing the hose, the distance to the screw must be at least 8 mm. Furthermore, it is important to ensure that the reference markers (hose and engine radiator) are aligned correctly. The cooling system should be properly ventilated following the refill.
