Whenever the above-mentioned problem is detected, its cause can often be found in connection with the cable control guides of the handbrake cable. These vibrations or noises mainly occur when driving takes place on uneven roads and surfaces.
It can happen that the cable has too much play within its supporting bracket and, consequently, it begins to rattle when there is increased suspension movement.
In such cases the cable is to be loosened from its mounting bracket, the excessive play corrected by means of a felt strip and then the cable once again secured in position.
It is also recommended to secure the supporting bracket with a cable tie.
Any damaged parts resulting from the problem are also to be replaced during such repair work.
