Driving-Dynamics Control Failure (DSC)

ESP Warning Light Comes On

Error code: 480A66

There can be multiple reasons if the error message listed above is displayed in the instrument cluster, in combination with the Check Control message "DSC malfunction/Reduced vehicle stability". This error primarily occurs when the Auto Hold Function is active and when the vehicle is moving off. In certain cases, it can also occur through driver error, if they keep their foot on the brake pedal for too long when moving off (two-footed driving)

Tests

The following tests must be carried out to determine the cause:

  • Check the brake pedal switch is fitted correctly and functions properly
  • Check the function and the ability of the brake pedal to return to its position
  • Check electric wiring and plug connections of the affected assemblies

Please also observe the repair notes provided by the vehicle manufacturer on this issue.

Note

If no defects have been determined, the ESP control unit software may be updated to correct the error.

Please inquire about this at an authorized garage.
