Loss of coolant

If a loss of coolant is detected in the vehicles mentioned above, the cooling system should be pressurised in accordance with the vehicle manufacturer's specifications and all components checked for damage/leakages. Paying particular attention to the coolant pump is advisable. Often the cause of coolant loss is a defective seal. To eliminate the problem, the seal and, if necessary, the entire coolant pump must be replaced. The cooling system must then be refilled and vented in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications. Ensure that the correct coolant additive is used and the correct mixing ratio is observed.
