Temperature control of air-conditioning system

In the above vehicles, corrosion on a connector and/or a damaged wiring harness can adversely affect the control of the air-conditioning system.

If there are problems in controlling the temperature of the air-conditioning system (set temperature is not reached or maintained), we recommend checking the wiring of the driver side door.

The connector contacts of the door wiring harness can corrode due to water entry. In addition, the wiring harness can also be damaged by contact with the window lift mechanism.

The outside temperature sensor, whose measured values are also used for controlling the air-conditioning system, is located in the left side mirror. The wiring to the sensor is part of the door wiring harness. Faults in this area can also affect the control of the air-conditioning system.

Please keep this information in mind if there are complaints with regard to temperature control of the air-conditioning system.

In particular, check the wiring/plug connection in the area of the A-pillar at the driver side door and also behind the door trim panel.
