Risk of fire due to blocked radiator fan

On the vehicles mentioned above, the battery cover can come loose, get into the radiator fan and block it. This can result in noises from the engine compartment and an elevated engine temperature. There is a risk of fire due to various components overheating.

To eliminate this problem, the first step is to remove the battery cover. Make sure that the positive pole remains protected/covered.

An adapter wiring harness can be fitted as an additional measure. For more information, see the "Vauxhall Astra J, radiator fan module" bulletin.

Even though the owners of the affected models have been informed, it can be assumed for various reasons that not all vehicles have been fully repaired.
