Rattling noises and poor engine performance.

Rattling noises from the engine compartment and poor engine performance are determined in the vehicle listed above.

The following fault codes are saved in the engine control unit:

P0300:

indicative of several cylinder misfires.

P0301 / P0302 / P0303 / P0304:

indicative of cylinder 1/2/3/4 misfires.

The cause may be camshaft bearing blocks tightened with insufficient torque.

To resolve the problem, specialist garages should check to see if the bolts of the camshaft bearing blocks have been tightened with the torque specified by the manufacturer. If this is not the case, the situation must be remedied in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications.

Vehicles already modified at specialist garages can be identified by a yellow marking on the top side of the timing chain cover.
