The Vauxhall Adam shows error codes U0077, U0073, U0401 and the ABS/ESP control lamp lights up sporadically

The ABS/ESP control lamp may light up sporadically on the above-mentioned vehicles. Error codes such as U0077, U0073, U0401 are stored in the error memory of the control unit. The errors relate to communication problems of the data bus systems.

As a first measure, all system components of each individual system, the battery and also the vehicle electrical system voltage should be checked.

However, the actual cause is often to be found in the area of the ignition system, even if this is rather difficult to imagine.

It is recommended to remove and check the ignition module and the spark plugs. After removing the spark plug connectors, the contacts should be checked for corrosion and burn marks. The ignition coil and rubber connector may also have insulation damage.

In order to eliminate the problem, the ignition module and the spark plugs should be replaced. After completing the repair job, the error memory is to be deleted.
