Replacing the light source in the Toyota C-HR

We recommend the following procedure when replacing bulbs:

  • Switch off the lighting and ignition.
  • Remove the key and keep it in a safe place.
  • Secure vehicle against rolling away. Apply the handbrake
  • Have spare bulbs ready to hand

Replace bulbs:

low beam / high beam, lamp type: HIR2 55W, Degree of difficulty: easy, Hella spare part number: 8GH 009 319-001

  • Turn the lamp holder (1) together with bulb a quarter turn to the left and remove it from the lamp (bayonet closure)
  • Disconnect the bulb with base plate from the electrical connector
  • Insert new bulb, fix connector
  • When installing the new bulb, it is important to make sure that the bulb is correctly seated in the lamp holder.

All direction indicators, front, lamp type: PY21W, Degree of difficulty: easy, Hella spare part number: 8GA 006 841-121

  • Turn the lamp holder (2) together with the bulb a quarter turn to the left and remove it from the lamp
  • Press the bulb slightly downwards, turn it to the left and remove it from the lamp holder.
  • Insert the new bulb into the holder, press down slightly and turn to the right

Parking light / daytime running light. LED module. No replacement of individual light sources planned

Then check the functioning of the lighting system. Check lamp adjustment and correct if necessary.

REPAIR INSTRUCTIONS
Bulbs should only be replaced when they have cooled down. A defective bulb may only be replaced by a bulb of the same type. The relevant designation can be found on the lamp base plate. The maintenance and safety information in the vehicle operating instructions must be observed!

Safety note for electric vehicles!
All repair work is only to be carried out by personnel trained in electrotechnical matters. Before the repair, the high-voltage (HV) system must be disconnected from the voltage by an HV expert who is certified to work on these types of systems. The country's specific laws and regulations on working on high-voltage systems must be observed and followed.
