A faulty or sluggishly operating coolant thermostat can result in an excessively high coolant temperature or a poorly running engine on the above mentioned vehicles.

If the coolant thermostat opens sluggishly, inadequate coolant circulation will affect the engine cooling system and can result in the above mentioned symptoms. To rectify the problem, it is necessary not only to fit the modified thermostat, but also to replace the thermostat housing with the modified thermostat housing.
