Air conditioning system failure

The vehicles mentioned above may experience a temporary or complete failure of the air-conditioning system. This is often caused by a faulty pressure sensor.

If the sensor transmits inaccurate measured values to the electronic control unit, the compressor will be actuated incorrectly, or not at all. Proceed as follows to check the pressure sensor:

  • Connect a pressure gage to the service ports on the air-conditioning system
  • Connect a diagnostic unit to the vehicle and select the "Measured value blocks/parameters" menu
  • Read the "actual values" for the sensor and compare them to the high-pressure reading from the pressure gage

If the difference is greater than 2bar, the pressure sensor must be replaced.
