MCC Smart: engine does not start, battery discharged
If the engine on the vehicles mentioned above does not start because of a discharged battery, this is often due to one-sided short-distance operation of the vehicle.
To remedy this, checking the battery, the alternator and all connecting cables is advisable. If no errors are detected, the software of the multifunction control unit should be updated. This modifies the charging characteristic of the alternator so that the battery is sufficiently charged during short-distance operation.
