Land Rover / Range Rover IV (LG) - Water ingress in the area of the spare wheel well

In this repair case, the customer complains about moisture / a water leak in the area of the spare wheel recess.

Troubleshooting: A closer look at the spare wheel well revealed that the factory-fitted drain plug was only inadequately preventing water from entering from outside.

Remedy: replace the factory-fitted drain plug with a 1-way valve (OE No. AYB500080) in accordance with the vehicle manufacturer's instructions.

Note on hybrid vehicles

  • The high-voltage system is to be switched off by "a specialist trained to work on intrinsically safe HV vehicles".
  • All work must only be carried out by "persons trained in electrotechnical matters" (ECS)!

IMPORTANT

Please note that such work should only be carried out by an authorised specialist workshop and that the vehicle manufacturer's repair and maintenance instructions must be observed!
