Interior blower cannot be turned down

In the vehicles mentioned above with manual air conditioning, the interior blower may only operate at the highest level (maximum fan speed). This is usually an indication that the blower regulator (resistor) is defective. This is also the case with these vehicles. However, it is accessed via the driver's footwell and not via the passenger footwell as is usually the case (Fig. 1).

To do this, proceed as follows:

  • Remove the accelerator pedal by removing the three fastening screws (Fig. 2)
  • Unlock and remove the connector on the accelerator pedal
  • Remove the blower controller screws (2x)
  • Unlock the connector on the controller and pull it out
  • Replace the controller, attach, plug in connector (Fig. 3)
  • Mount the accelerator pedal
  • Plug in the connector (make sure it is correctly locked)
  • Carry out a functional test on the interior blower
