Hyundai i20: engine noise or mechanical noise from the engine compartment

If you can hear mechanical noise from the engine compartment in above-mentioned vehicles, focus on the coolant pump in particular. A prematurely worn bearing may be causing the noise.

It is necessary to install a new coolant pump together with a modified belt pulley to resolve the situation and prevent further damage. We recommend you simultaneously replace the pump’s drive belt.

Tip

We advise that you check the coolant pump for leaks as well as noise as part of general servicing and replace it if necessary.
